English as a Second Language
Classes on Long Island
Westbury Language Center
WESTBURY LANGUAGE CENTER
gives ESL instruction, English as a Second Language.
Its
methodology blends the Audio-Lingual method and the
Communicative Approach; this way, students learn basic
structures for daily communication at home, work or simple social
activities since the first class.
Nevertheless, this method needs discipline, students who are
committed to study daily, because it is necessary to do homework,
memorize dialogs, and practice a lot. At the same time, students
work on complementary programs at home. Therefore, the learning
process improves, enriching the class work, giving more options to
study according to student’s time and availability.

Evaluation
Westbury
Language Center
follows evaluative guidelines from Center for Applied
Linguistics, establish in BEST PLUS (Basic
English Skill Test). Through this test, the
school sets the proficiency student level getting in the program,
and test again every fifty hours in order to know the advance in
speaking the language.
BEST PLUS
gives standards to star classes, join an advanced class, reach a
higher level, and graduate, besides the normal evaluations and work
made in class. Students will be able to speak fluently in any social
environment, thanks to a dynamic methodology, complementary
programs, and evaluation that work together in order to provide an
excellent instruction.
Proyecto educativo
El WESTBURY LANGUAGE CENTER ofrece formación en
Inglés como segunda lengua (English as a Second Language, ESL)
