Parent Child Program

Welcome to the Spanish All Year “Parent Child Program” where parents, grandparents, caregivers…sing, jump, dance, and have fun in Spanish.

This is a 45 minute, interactive full immersion program in Spanish, designed for children 6 months to 3 years, where you are given the tools to be an important part of your child’s learning experience. We don’t use English translations…We only speak Spanish, so brush up your Spanish from High School, or your Dora the Explorer sentences, or just come with a clean slate…and follow the teachers instructions…Repeat, repeat, repeat! Tell your children you will be learning together!

The program is intended so parent and/or caregiver, helps the child with the activity , plays the games, sings, dances and practices the vocabulary related to the topic.

Latin Baby & Me (6-12 months)         This is a interactive program in Spanish and Latin-American Rhythms designed for the adult and the baby to bond, have fun, or get back into shape! The first 30 minutes of class are for dancing, and the last 15 minutes we will do stretching and playing on the floor.                                            Be sure you bring your baby carrier and comfortable clothes for both.

Latin Toddler & Me (1-2 Yr Olds)     This class is the perfect opportunity for you and your toddler to share, dance and create small projects in Spanish. Be your child’s dance buddy and get involved in Latin-American games, dances and instruments. At the end of the class your child will make a small project to take home.

Together en Español (2-3 Year Olds)  This program is intended so parent and/or caregivers helps the child with the activity, play the games, sing, dance and practices the vocabulary related to the topic.

In our program, we use thematic units which incorporates movement, story telling, plays games, and art project during the class.

Eric Carle, with his beautiful illustrations and predictable patterned storyline is ideal for emergent readers in any language, is one of our favorite authors to work with.  These are some of his works we use to create our thematic based activities: Oso pardo (Brown Bear), La orugita muy hambrienta (The Very Hungry Caterpillar), La araña muy ocupada (The Very Busy Spider), De la cabeza a los pies (From Head to Toe).

We are delighted to have visitors, friends, grandparents, and uncles…Please arrange it with your teacher, as space is limited…But they have to be willing to participate in class!

In order to maximize your time with us , please keep in mind

  •  One adult per child required.

  •  Remove your shoes, and place them in the cubbies    outside the classroom.

  •  During class, set cell phones to vibrate. If you need to take the call, please step outside to hold a conversation.

  •  If your child becomes upset during class, please be fair to the other parents and children, and step outside until your child calms down, and is ready to participate again in the activity.

  •  Please keep your voices low and your conversations to a minimum, with other parents, so your children can pay more attention to the teacher’s instructions.

Muchas Gracias and…Have a great time!!
